AUTHOR OF MY OWN JOURNEY...
I began formal studies in singing at the age of 5. However, as long as I can remember, I have been singing which enables me to connect with a love for expressing myself through music. Fortunately my spirit for singing was encouraged at a very early age and has evolved through decades of thorough, disciplined training. Singing is not for the faint of heart. We do not choose a career in music, it chooses us! I am grateful for the teachers who I have worked with over the years and those who I still continue to train with. Like any athletic activity, singing demands a virtuous devotion to daily technical training in sequence with a dedication to the internal, artistic elaborations associated with profound interpretative abilities. Stellar singing demands great story telling! Where tone meets text, meaning melds with musical material, and colors create sound pictures. This is the paradigm for every great singer to meet and rise to!
Through every episode of life, place I've lived or visited, to the individual encounters I have experienced with mentors, friends & others, the rich tapestry of life continually seams itself together. And somehow, through this patchwork of patience, struggle and everyday reality, the seasons bring new evidence, ideas, observations and understanding that pronounce new perceptions of what it means to really live. How grateful I am for the richness of these experiences! To embrace every thought, emotion and creative idea with clarity and reason. In my voice, it is my wish that you will hear and feel what my impressions and senses are in every song. After all, perception is all we really have to accompany us on our journey. And, in the end, as an artist it is my first and main duty to scrutinize all possibilities whilst exploring my imagination. This has always and invariably brought new knowledge and insight to my art and those who I concur with at every crossroad of life. Wishing you a gentle state of mind! |
